Serendipity to Eternity

As a child, I often played a popular board game with my siblings. The artwork printed on the board and cards, evoked feelings of euphoria within me. As I pondered the light-hearted imagery I longed to exist in the fun and frumpy world portrayed on the game's surfaces.

Later in life, as I reflected on this childhood fantasy, I came to realize that there is a longing within all of us to live in a utopian paradise. We look at the world around us, and we seem to know (even at an early age) that something much better is possible and available.

This series explores the longing for eternal paradise fixed in the human heart by God. The series is based on cards from the aforementioned board game. The paintings were intentionally painted in a large format to invite the viewer to “step inside” the new world in front of them.
