Lipstick Kisses

The Lipstick Kiss series was actualized when a friend of mine opened her makeup compact and I noticed the imprint of a lipstick-kiss on the small mirror. I realized that whenever she opened her compact, there was always a kiss waiting for her that was superimposed on the reflection of her face.

This led me to consider the intrusion of God into a person's life. Sometimes God will nudge his way into our life in an abrupt manner through an undesired circumstance. This intrusion often feels uncomfortable and unfamiliar at first, but as we reflect on it from the future, we often find that God had our best interests in mind.

In the images below, God's abrupt intrusion is symbolized by military themes and the bold, bright kiss on the surface. The kiss reminds us that in the end, whatever we have experienced in life is ultimately a chance for us to grow into the person that both we and God desire. The utilitarian number 3407, when inverted, approximates the word "LOVE".
